I am so happy because I have just published a book of photographs and very short texts about Sarasota, a city on the west coast of Florida, where I have lived since November 2024.

Some of the texts are rough fragments, translated into English, from a poetry book I am still writing — originally in Spanish. Other texts are reflections on the photographs I took and chose for the book.
My approach to photography is less than amateur. I like taking pictures very much, although I do not do it professionally. What interests me is looking at an image, stopping at one angle of it, talking about what it shows, and also adding footnotes to what the image suggests to me, or, most of the time, guiding the reading of the image somewhere else.

This book is part of The Present Tense, a cultural project I am developing in the United States. This first book is a kind of pilot edition, and I would like to invite local artists to take part in future projects.
For those who would like to get a copy, the book is available in print through the Lulu bookstore, with home delivery, at this link.
